Department of Labor June 1, 2011 – Federal Register Recent Federal Regulation Documents

This document proposes to extend specified applicability dates of the Department's interim final rule concerning fiduciary-level fee disclosure (29 CFR 2550.408b-2(c), RIN 1210-AB08) and final rule concerning participant-level fee disclosure (29 CFR 2550.404a-5, RIN 1210-AB07). These rules were published in the Federal Register on July 16, 2010 and October 20, 2010, respectively. Extending these dates will more closely align the application of the two rules and ensure that parties have sufficient time to comply with the requirements of the rules.

The Department of Labor, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden conducts a preclearance consultation program to provide the general public and Federal agencies with an opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing collections of information in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA95) [44 U.S.C. 3506(c)(2)(A)]. This program helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirements on respondents can be properly assessed. Currently, the Employment and Training Administration is soliciting comments concerning the collection of data to support the Enhanced Transitional Jobs Demonstration project (ETJD).
