Privacy Act of 1974; System of Records
Pursuant to the Privacy Act of 1974, the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission of the United States (Commission), Department of Justice, proposes to establish a new system of records to enable the Commission to carry out its statutory responsibility to receive, examine, adjudicate and render final decisions with respect to claims for compensation of individuals. The system will include documentation provided by the claimants as well as background material that will assist the Commission in the processing of their claims. The system will also include the final decision of the Commission regarding each claim.

Pursuant to the Privacy Act of 1974 and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular No. A-108, notice is hereby given that the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission of the United States (Commission), a component within the United States Department of Justice (DOJ or Department), proposes to rescind the system of records notice titled East Germany, Registration of Claims Against, FCSC-10. The Commission proposes to rescind this systems of records because it has completed its work associated with the records and destroyed the records in accordance with the approved disposition schedule.
