Notice of Submission of Proposed Information Collection to OMB; Recertification of Family Income and Composition
The proposed information collection requirement described below has been submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act. The Department is soliciting public comments on the subject proposal. Recertification information is submitted by homeowners to mortgagees to determine their continued eligibility for assistance and to determine the amount of assistance a homeowner is to receive. The information collected is also used by mortgagees to report statistical and general program data to HUD.

The proposed information collection requirement described below has been submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act. The Department is soliciting public comments on the subject proposal. Cities, counties, and states that have received program grants describe their recovery needs, develop action plans, and report performance on a Disaster Recovery Grant Reporting System. HUD also uses the information for quarterly reports to Congress.
Use of Indian Housing Block Grant Funds for Rental Assistance in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Projects
This final rule amends the Indian Housing Block Grant (IHBG) program regulations to specify the conditions under which IHBG funds may be used for project-based or tenant-based rental assistance. The final rule clarifies that such rental assistance may be provided in a manner consistent with assistance provided under section 8 of the United States Housing Act of 1937 on behalf of a tenant receiving assistance under the Native American Housing Assistance and Self- Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA). This final rule follows publication of a June 8, 2007, proposed rule, and adopts the proposed rule without change. HUD received one public comment on the June 8, 2007, proposed rule, expressing unqualified support for the proposed regulatory changes.
Changes in Certain Multifamily Mortgage Insurance Premiums for 2008
In accordance with HUD regulations, this notice announces the changes in the mortgage insurance premiums (MIP) for the following Federal Housing Administration (FHA) multifamily mortgage insurance programs whose commitments will be issued or reissued in Fiscal Year (FY) 2008. The new MIPs will be effective as of December 1, 2007.
