The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) administers the Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME) vetting program. TSA conducts a security threat assessment (STA) of HME applicants in accordance with statutory requirements and collects fees to recover TSA's costs to conduct the STA and administer the program. Some States have elected to collect the information and fees from the applicant directly, and transmit such information and fees to TSA for the STA. In this notice, TSA announces that the fee to conduct the STA for these States will be increased to fully recover the costs to administer the program.

This notice announces that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has forwarded the Information Collection Request (ICR), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) control number 1652-0059, abstracted below to OMB for review and approval of a revision of the currently approved collection under the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA). The ICR describes the nature of the information collection and its expected burden. The collection involves the submission of biographic and biometric information by individuals seeking to enroll in the TSA PreCheck[supreg] (also known as TSA Pre[check][supreg]) Application Program, as well as optional surveys related to customer service and enrollment processes.
