Safety Zone; Ohio River, Cincinnati, OH
The Coast Guard is extending the duration of a temporary safety zone for all navigable waters of the Ohio River from mile marker (MM) 487.0 to MM 489.0. This action is necessary to provide for the safety of personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards created by Duke Energy's Static Wire Crossing operation taking place on the Ohio River from MM 487.0 to MM 489.0. Entry of vessel or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Ohio Valley or a designated representative.
Safety Zone; Kanawha River, Nitro, WV
The Coast Guard is establishing a safety zone for all navigable waters of the Kanawha River between mile markers 43 and 44. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from the potential hazards created by a fireworks display. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by Captain of the Port Marine Safety Unit Huntington.
Safety Zone; Fireworks Display; James River, Newport News, VA
The Coast Guard is establishing a safety zone for navigable waters within a 400-yard radius of a fireworks barge in the James River, Newport News, VA. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards created by the launching of fireworks. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port (COTP) Sector Virginia.
