Drawbridge Operation Regulation; Merrimack River, Newburyport, MA
The Coast Guard has issued a temporary deviation from the operating schedule that governs the US1 Bridge across the Merrimack River, mile 3.4, at Newburyport, MA. The deviation is necessary to replace the electrical power and control systems which are at the end of their life cycle. This deviation allows the bridge to be closed to navigation.
Lower Mississippi River Waterway Safety Advisory Committee
The Lower Mississippi River Waterway Safety Advisory Committee will meet in New Orleans, Louisiana to discuss Committee matters relating to the safe transit of vessels and cargoes to and from the ports of the Lower Mississippi River. The meeting will be open to the public.
2016 National Preparedness for Response Exercise Program (PREP) Guidelines
This notice announces proposed changes to the 2016 PREP Guidelines and solicits public comment to the proposed changes. The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) is publishing this notice on behalf of the Preparedness for Response Exercise Program Compliance, Coordination, and Consistency Committee (PREP 4C). The PREP 4C includes representatives from the USCG under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS); the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) under the Department of Transportation (DOT); and the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) under the Department of the Interior (DOI).
Safety Zone; Captain of the Port Boston Fireworks Display Zone, Boston Harbor, Boston, MA
The Coast Guard will enforce safety zones for First Night Fireworks on December 31, 2017, to provide for the safety of life on navigable waterways during the fireworks display. Our regulation for Captain of the Port (COTP) Boston fireworks display zones, Boston Harbor, Boston, MA identifies the regulated areas for this fireworks display. During the enforcement period, no vessel may transit these regulated areas without approval from the COTP Boston or a designated representative.
