Department of Homeland Security September 23, 2021 – Federal Register Recent Federal Regulation Documents

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for certain waters of the Potomac River. This action is necessary to provide for the safety of persons, and the marine environment from the potential safety hazards associated with construction operations at the new Governor Harry W. Nice/Senator Thomas ``Mac'' Middleton Memorial (US-301) Bridge, which will occur from 7 a.m. on September 20, 2021, through 8 p.m. on December 31, 2021. This rule will prohibit persons and vessels from being in the safety zone unless authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Maryland-National Capital Region or a designated representative. Due to the lengthy duration of the safety zone, the Coast Guard is accepting and reviewing public comments until October 15, 2021. While the rule is being enforced, beginning September 20, 2021, the Coast Guard reserves the right to modify the safety zone if an issue is raised by the public comments that requires a modification.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), will be submitting the following information collection request to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and clearance in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. The purpose of this notice is to allow an additional 30 days for public comments.
