Energy Conservation Program for Commercial and Industrial Equipment: Energy Conservation Standards for Commercial Ice-Cream Freezers; for Self-Contained Commercial Refrigerators, Commercial Freezers, and Commercial Refrigerator-Freezers without Doors; and for Remote Condensing Commercial Refrigerators, Commercial Freezers, and Commercial Refrigerator-Freezers
The Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA) authorizes the Department of Energy (DOE) to establish energy conservation standards for various consumer products and commercial and industrial equipment, including commercial ice-cream freezers; self-contained commercial refrigerators, commercial freezers, and commercial refrigerator- freezers without doors; and remote condensing commercial refrigerators, commercial freezers, and commercial refrigerator-freezers, if DOE determines that energy conservation standards would be technologically feasible and economically justified, and would result in significant energy savings. DOE publishes this Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANOPR) to consider establishing energy conservation standards for the categories of commercial refrigeration equipment mentioned above, and to announce a public meeting to receive comments on a variety of issues.
Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technical Advisory Committee (HTAC)
The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technical Advisory Committee (HTAC) was established under section 807 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPACT), Public Law 109-58; 119 Stat. 849. The Federal Advisory Committee Act, Public Law 92-463, 86 Stat. 770, requires that public notice of these meetings be announced in the Federal Register. Energy Conservation Program for Consumer Products: Publication of the Petition for Waiver and Granting of the Application for Interim Waiver of Daikin U.S. Corporation From the DOE Residential and Commercial Package Air Conditioner and Heat Pump Test Procedures (Case No. CAC-011)
Today's notice publishes a Petition for Waiver from Daikin U.S. Corporation (Daikin). This Petition for Waiver (hereafter ``Daikin Petition'') requests a waiver of the Department of Energy (DOE) test procedures applicable to residential and commercial package central air conditioners and heat pumps. The waiver request is specific to Daikin's VRV-S (residential) and VRV (commercial) Variable Refrigerant Volume multi-split heat pumps and heat recovery systems. DOE is soliciting comments, data, and information with respect to the Daikin Petition. Today's notice also extends the Interim Waiver granted to Daikin on August 14, 2006. An alternate test procedure from the DOE test procedure for residential air conditioners and heat pumps is added to the Interim Waiver.
