Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) proposes new formula rates and revisions to the existing Energy Imbalance (EI) and Generator Imbalance (GI) rate schedules for the Central Valley Project (CVP). The new rates are associated with two events: Participation in the California Independent System Operator's (CAISO) Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) and aligning CVP's Sale of Surplus Products (SSP) with other WAPA regions.

On July 16, 2020, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) published a notice of Request for Information (RFI) to help support the Energy Storage Grand Challenge. The notice provided an opportunity for submitting electronic, written responses to the RFI by August 21, 2020. DOE is extending the public comment period for submitting comments to the RFI by 10 days to August 31, 2020.
