Visiting Committee on Advanced Technology
The Visiting Committee on Advanced Technology (VCAT or Committee), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), will meet in open session on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time and Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Eastern Time. The VCAT is composed of fifteen members appointed by the NIST Director who are eminent in such fields as business, research, new product development, engineering, labor, education, management consulting, environment, and international relations.

Notice of Public Workshop and Request for Public Comments on the Draft Community Resilience Planning Guide for Buildings and Infrastructure Systems
On Monday, April 27, 2015, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will release the Draft Community Resilience Planning Guide (CRPG) for Buildings and Infrastructure Systems, consisting of two volumes totaling approximately 350 pages, and requests public comments on the draft document. On the same day, NIST will hold a public workshop at Texas Southern University in Houston, TX to present and discuss the Draft CRPG. The agenda will consist of an overview of the NIST Community Resilience Program and an introduction to volumes one (1) and two (2) of the Draft CRPG. A panel of regional and local government representatives will provide insight into their experience with community resilience and how they plan to implement the CRPG in their community. This will be followed by a moderated discussion with participants regarding the opportunities and challenges of implementing the methodology. The Draft CRPG and a suggested comment template will be posted on the NIST Web site at: https://www.nist.gov/ el/building_materials/resilience/framework.cfm. NIST will consider all comments received from the public submitted in accordance with the DATES and ADDRESSES sections below.
Request for Information on Quantum Information Science and the Needs of U.S. Industry
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) requests information about the broader needs of the industrial community in the area of quantum information science (QIS). NIST requests this information through its role in the Interagency Working Group on Quantum Information Science of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Committee on Science (CoS) Subcommittee on Physical Sciences (PSSC). NIST seeks input from stakeholders regarding opportunities for research and development, emerging market areas, barriers to near-term and future applications, and workforce needs. The information received in response to this RFI will inform and be considered by the Interagency Working Group making recommendations for the development and coordination of U.S. Government policies, programs, and budgets to advance U.S. competitiveness in QIS.
National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence Access Rights Management Use Case for the Financial Services Sector
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) invites organizations to provide products and technical expertise to support and demonstrate security platforms for access rights management for the financial services sector. This notice is the initial step for the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) in collaborating with technology companies to address cybersecurity challenges identified under the financial services sector program. Participation in the use case is open to all interested organizations.
