Announcing an Open Meeting of the Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board
The Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board (ISPAB) will meet Wednesday, February 1, 2012, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2012, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Friday, February 3, 2012 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. All sessions will be open to the public.
National Conference on Weights and Measures 97th Interim Meeting
The Interim Meeting of the 97th National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM) will be held January 22 to 25, 2012. This notice contains information about significant items on the NCWM Committee agendas, but does not include all agenda items. As a result, the items are not consecutively numbered.
Alternative Personnel Management System (APMS) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology
This notice informs the public that the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is extending for six (6) months beginning on January 5, 2012, its APMS direct-hire authority pilot. NIST will continue piloting direct-hire authority under Title 5, CFR, Part 337, Subpart B for all positions within NIST in the Scientific and Engineering (ZP) career path at the Pay Band III and above, for Nuclear Reactor Operator positions in the Scientific and Engineering (ZT) career path at Pay Band III and above, and for all occupations for which there is a special rate under the General Schedule pay system.
National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program; Operating Procedures
The Director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), United States Department of Commerce, is issuing a final rule amending the regulations pertaining to the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP). Regulations concerning the establishment of laboratory accreditation programs (LAPs) within NVLAP are being amended to clarify the original intent of this section and to improve the readability and understanding of the agency's regulations.
