Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the rules and regulations of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (Commission), and the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), that an orientation and planning meeting of the South Dakota Advisory Committee to the Commission will convene at 10:00 a.m. (CDT) on Monday, October 5, 2015, via teleconference. The purpose of the orientation meeting is to inform the newly appointed members about the rules of operation for the advisory committee. The purpose of the planning meeting is to discuss the draft report, Civil Rights Issues in South Dakota: The Administration of Justice in Rapid City. Members of the public may listen to the discussion by dialing the following Conference Call Toll-Free Number: 1-888-539-3612; Conference ID: 3235417. Please be advised that before being placed into the conference call, the operator will ask callers to provide their names, their organizational affiliations (if any), and an email address (if available) prior to placing callers into the conference room. Notice of Public Meeting of the Mississippi Advisory Committee To Vote on Its Advisory Memorandum Regarding Civil Rights Concerns Relating to Distribution of Federal Child Care Subsidies in Mississippi

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the rules and regulations of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (Commission) and the Federal Advisory Committee Act that the Mississippi Advisory Committee (Committee) will hold a meeting on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. CDT for the purpose of discussing and voting on an advisory memorandum on the civil rights concerns relating to potential disparities in the distribution of federal child care subsidies in Mississippi on the basis of race or color. The committee previously gathered testimony on this topic on April 29, 2015, and May 13, 2015. The Committee will also discuss and vote on whether to pursue a project on race and prosecutorial discretion in Mississippi. This meeting is to serve as a rescheduling of the September 8, 2015 meeting of the committee, which was canceled. Members of the public may listen to the discussion. This meeting is available to the public through the following toll-free call-in number: 888-427-9376, conference ID: 3969602. Any interested member of the public may call this number and listen to the meeting.
