Census Scientific Advisory Committee Public Meeting
The Bureau of the Census (Census Bureau) is giving notice of a meeting of the Census Scientific Advisory Committee (CSAC). The Committee will address policy, research, and technical issues relating to a full range of Census Bureau programs and activities, including communications, decennial, demographic, economic, field operations, geographic, information technology, and statistics. The CSAC will meet in a plenary session on December 6-7, 2018. The meeting will be available via webcast at: https:// www.census.gov/newsroom/census-live.html. Suspension of the Geographically Updated Population Certification Program for Places Incorporating or Annexing Between Censuses
This document serves as notice to state and local governments and to other federal agencies that beginning on January 1, 2019, the Bureau of the Census (Census Bureau) will suspend the Geographically Updated Population Certification Program for three yearsthe year preceding the decennial census, the decennial census year, and the year following itto accommodate the 2020 Census operation. During this time, the Census Bureau will not provide the operations necessary to determine the updated April 1, 2010 census population and housing unit counts for entities that: Annex territory; incorporate or organize as counties; or incorporate or organize as boroughs, cities, towns, villages, townships, or other general purpose governments. However, the Census Bureau will consider all requests for population and housing count updates received in writing before January 1, 2019.
Soliciting Feedback From Users on 2020 Census Data Products; Reopening of Comment Period
The Bureau of the Census (Census Bureau) is reopening the comment period provided in the notice entitled ``Soliciting Feedback from Users on 2020 Census Data Products,'' which was published in the Federal Register on July 19, 2018, in order to allow interested parties additional time to submit comments. The public comment period on that notice closed on September 17, 2018.
