Madera Irrigation District Water Supply Enhancement Project
The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) has made available for public review and comment the Draft EIS for the Madera Irrigation District Water Supply Enhancement Project (MID WSEP). Reclamation proposes to approve the banking of up to 55,000 acre-feet per year of Central Valley Project (CVP) water outside the MID service area and the alteration of Reclamation-owned facilities. The total banking capacity of the MID WSEP is 250,000 acre-feet.
Walker River Basin Acquisition Program
The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) has made available for public review and comment the Draft EIS for the Walker River Basin Acquisition Program. (Acquisition Program). Reclamation is directed in Public Law 109-103 to provide $70 million in funding to the University of Nevada to implement a program for environmental restoration in the Walker River Basin. The law directs that the funds be used by the University to acquire from willing sellers land, water appurtenant to the land, and related interests in the Walker River Basin, Nevada. Acquired water rights would be transferred to provide water to Walker Lake. The funding is also for the University to establish and operate an agricultural and natural resources center.
Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Work Group (AMWG)
The Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program (AMP) was implemented as a result of the Record of Decision on the Operation of Glen Canyon Dam Final Environmental Impact Statement to comply with consultation requirements of the Grand Canyon Protection Act (Pub. L. 102-575) of 1992. The AMP includes a federal advisory committee, the Adaptive Management Work Group (AMWG), a technical work group (TWG), a Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center, and independent review panels. The AMWG makes recommendations to the Secretary of the Interior concerning Glen Canyon Dam operations and other management actions to protect resources downstream of Glen Canyon Dam consistent with the Grand Canyon Protection Act. The TWG is a subcommittee of the AMWG and provides technical advice and recommendations to the AMWG.
Agency Information Collection; Activities Under OMB Review; Comment Request
In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) has forwarded the following Information Collection Request (ICR) to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and approval: Recreation Use Data Report, OMB Control Number: 1006-0002. As part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burdens, Reclamation invites other Federal agencies, State, local, or tribal governments which manage recreation sites at Reclamation projects; concessionaires, sub-concessionaires, and not-for-profit organizations who operate concessions on Reclamation lands; and the public, to comment on this information collection.

Delta-Mendota Canal/California Aqueduct Intertie, Alameda County, CA
The Bureau of Reclamation, as the National Environmental Policy Act Federal lead agency, has made available for public review and comment the Delta-Mendota Canal/California Aqueduct Intertie (Intertie) Draft EIS. The Intertie is a proposed action in the August 2000 CALFED Bay-Delta Program Programmatic Record of Decision. The Intertie Draft EIS evaluates constructing and operating a pipeline connecting the Delta-Mendota Canal (DMC) and the California Aqueduct. The purpose of the Proposed Action is to improve the DMC conveyance conditions that restrict the CVP Jones Pumping Plant to less than its authorized pumping capacity of 4,600 cubic feet per second. The Draft EIS describes and presents the environmental effects of the No-Action Alternative and three action alternatives. Two public hearings will be held to receive comments from agencies, individuals, and organizations on the Draft EIS.
Mendota Pool Bypass and Reach 2B Improvements Project Under the San Joaquin River Restoration Program, Fresno and Madera Counties, CA
The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) and the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) are proposing to prepare a joint EIS/EIR, pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), to evaluate effects of the proposed Mendota Pool Bypass and Reach 2B Channel Improvements Project (Proposed Action) under the San Joaquin River Restoration Program (SJRRP or Program). The Proposed Action includes the construction, operation, and maintenance of the Mendota Pool Bypass and improvements, including the operation and maintenance of the San Joaquin River channel to allow Reach 2B to convey at least 4,500 cubic feet per second (cfs). The purpose of the proposed action is to improve Reach 2B conveyance conditions enough to provide a capacity of at least 4,500 cfs with integrated floodplain habitat, and to convey restoration flows of at least 4,500 cfs around Mendota Pool from Reach 2B downstream to Reach 3. The planning and environmental review for the Proposed Action is authorized under section 3406(c)(1) of the Central Valley Project Improvement Act (CVPIA) Title 34, (Pub. L. 102-575) and the San Joaquin River Restoration Act (SJRRA), included in Public Law 111-11. Construction of the Proposed Action is authorized under the SJRRA (Pub. L. 111-11). The Proposed Action is a component of the San Joaquin River Settlement.
Equus Beds Aquifer Recharge and Recovery Project, Equus Beds Division, Wichita Project, KS
Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA), the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) has completed the Equus Beds Aquifer Recharge and Recovery Project Draft EIS. It is now available for public review and comment. The Draft EIS describes the development and environmental effects of two alternatives: (1) A no action alternative; and (2) an action alternative that meets the project purpose and need.
Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project, New Mexico
Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (as amended), Public Law (Pub. L.) 92-199, and the general authority to conduct water resources planning under the Reclamation Act of 1902 and all acts amendatory thereof and supplementary thereto, the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation), in cooperation with the Navajo Nation, Jicarilla Apache Nation, City of Gallup, State of New Mexico, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Indian Heath Service, Navajo Tribal Utility Authority, and Northwest New Mexico Council of Governments, has prepared and made available to the public a Planning Report and Final Environmental Impact Statement (PR/FEIS). This document was undertaken to provide a discussion for the (1) Various ways to provide a municipal and industrial (M&I) water supply to the Navajo Nation, City of Gallup, and Jicarilla Apache Nation; (2) identification of a preferred alternative; and (3) associated environmental impacts and costs of the No Action and two action alternatives.
