U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is making efforts to reduce the paperwork burden. USAID invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on the following proposed and/or continuing information collections, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act for 1995. Comments are requested concerning: (a) Whether the proposed or continuing collections of information are necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency, including whether the information shall have practical utility; (b) the accuracy of the burden estimates; (c) ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information collected; and (d) ways to minimize the burden of the collection of information on the respondents, including the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is issuing public notice of its intent to alter a system of records maintained in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. 552a), as amended, entitled ``USAID-33, Phoenix Financial Management System''. This action is necessary to meet the requirements of the Privacy Act to publish in the Federal Register notice of the existence and character of record systems maintained by the agency (5 U.S.C. 522a(e)(4)). System addresses have been expanded.

Pursuant to the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. 552a), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is giving notice that it proposes to alter a system of records, the Partner Vetting System (PVS). This system supports the vetting of individuals, officers, or other officials of nongovernmental organizations who apply for USAID contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, or other funding, or who apply for registration with USAID as Private and Voluntary Organizations (PVOs), ensuring that neither USAID funds nor USAID-funded activities inadvertently or otherwise provide support to entities or individuals associated with terrorism.
