Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation May 2010 – Federal Register Recent Federal Regulation Documents

Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (``PBGC'') intends to request that the Office of Management and Budget (``OMB'') extend approval (with modifications), under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, of a collection of information in its regulations on Termination of Single-Employer Plans and Missing Participants, and implementing forms and instructions (OMB control number 1212-0036; expires September 30, 2010). This notice informs the public of PBGC's intent and solicits public comment on the collection of information.

Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation's regulation on Benefits Payable in Terminated Single-Employer Plans prescribes interest assumptions for valuing and paying certain benefits under terminating single-employer plans. This final rule amends the benefit payments regulation to adopt interest assumptions for plans with valuation dates in June 2010. Interest assumptions are also published on PBGC's Web site (https://www.pbgc.gov).
