Duke Energy Progress, LLC; Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1; Exemption
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued an exemption in response to a February 6, 2024, request, as supplemented by letters dated April 3 and June 7, 2024, from Duke Energy Progress, LLC (the licensee). The exemption relieves the licensee from NRC regulations requiring specific reactor protection system cables at Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1, to meet certain requirements of the Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Standard 279-1971, "Criteria for Protection Systems for Nuclear Power Generating Stations."
Information Collection: Fitness for Duty Programs
