Information Collection: Disposal of High-Level Radioactive Wastes in Geologic Repositories
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has recently submitted a request for renewal of an existing collection of information to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review. The information collection is entitled, ``Disposal of High- Level Radioactive Wastes in Geologic Repositories.''
Criteria for Accident Monitoring Instrumentation for Nuclear Power Plants
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is issuing Revision 5 to Regulatory Guide (RG) 1.97, ``Criteria for Accident Monitoring Instrumentation for Nuclear Power Plants.'' This guide describes an approach that is acceptable to the staff of the NRC to meet regulatory requirements for instrumentation to monitor accidents in nuclear power plants. It endorses, with exceptions and clarifications, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Standard (Std.) 497-2016, ``IEEE Standard Criteria for Accident Monitoring Instrumentation for Nuclear Power Generating Stations.''
Exelon Generation Company, LLC; Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is considering issuance of an exemption to Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon or the licensee) that would change the effective date for the implementation of exemptions, approved on October 16, 2018. The proposed action would permit the licensee to reduce its emergency planning (EP) activities at the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station (Oyster Creek) and change the effective date from 365 days to 285 days.
