Institute of Museum and Library Services; Cooperative Agreement to Develop and Host the 2006 and 2007 Web-Wise Conferences on Libraries and Museums in the Digital World
The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is requesting proposals leading to one (1) award of a Cooperative Agreement to develop and host the 2006 and 2007 Web-Wise Conferences on Libraries and Museums in the Digital World in cooperation and with the support of IMLS. The Web-Wise Conference highlights exemplary projects that have used federal funding to improve library and museum programs using technology, and brings together library and museum professionals and national technology experts to discuss issues of mutual concern. Organizations eligible for the award include public and not-for-profit institutions of higher education, all types of libraries, library consortia, all types of public and not-for-profit museums and museum consortia. Federally operated and for-profit museums and libraries are not eligible for IMLS funds. Professional associations serving the museum or library field are eligible. The Cooperative Agreement will be for up to two years; however, funds for the 2007 conference will be released upon successful completion of the 2006 conference, availability of federal funds, and approval of the IMLS Director. Institute of Museum and Library Services; Proposed Collection, Comment Request, Program Evaluation of an IMLS Workshop to Foster Discussion of Collaborative Activities Among Libraries, Museums, and K-12 Education
The Institute of Museum and Library Services, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, invites the general public and federal agencies to comment on proposed and/or continuing collections of information in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA95)[44 U.S.C. 3508 (2)(A)]. This pre- clearance comment opportunity helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirements or respondents can be properly assessed. The Institute of Museum and Library Services is currently soliciting comments concerning its planned evaluation of a workshop to foster discussion of strengthening K-12 education through collaborations among museums, libraries, and K-12 education. Privacy Act of 1974; Notice of Amendment to System of Records
The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), is publishing an amendment of its systems of records with descriptions of the systems and the ways they are maintained, as required by the Privacy Act of 1974, 5 U.S.C. 552(a)(e)(4). This action corrects a notice published in the Federal Register on February 2, 2005, at 70 FR 5494. In that notice, the time and date of the Fourth Meeting of National Museum and Library Services Board was inadvertently published as 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2005. The correct date of the Fourth Meeting of National Museum and Library Services Board is 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2005. This action corrects that error. The agenda and address of the meeting remain as announced on February 2, 2005, at 70 FR 5494.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, conducts a pre- clearance consultation program to provide the general public and federal agencies with an opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing collections of information in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA95), 44 U.S.C. 3508(2)(A). This program helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirements on respondents can be properly assessed. Currently the Institute of Museum and Library Services is soliciting comments concerning the proposed collection of application information for Librarians for the 21st Century, Native American/Native Hawaiian Library Services reporting forms, Grants for State Library Administrative Agencies financial report form, and reviewer forms.
