Trade Regulation Rule on Impersonation of Government and Businesses
The Federal Trade Commission has proposed a trade regulation rule entitled ``Rule on Impersonation of Government and Businesses,'' which would prohibit the impersonation of government, businesses, or their officials. In response to the notice of proposed rulemaking, a commenter requested an informal hearing. The informal hearing will be conducted virtually on May 4, 2023, at 1 p.m. Eastern Time, and the presiding officer will be the Commission's Chief Administrative Law Judge, D. Michael Chappell.
Agency Information Collection Activities; Proposed Collection; Comment Request; Extension
In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC or Commission) is seeking public comment on its proposal to extend for an additional three years the Office of Management and Budget clearance for its shared enforcement authority with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) for information collection requirements contained in the CFPB's Regulation O. The current clearance expires on March 31, 2023.
Public Workshop Examining Proposed Changes to the Ophthalmic Practice Rules (Eyeglass Rule)
The Federal Trade Commission (``FTC'' or ``Commission'') will hold a public workshop relating to its January 3, 2023, notice of proposed rulemaking (``NPRM'') announcing proposed changes to the Ophthalmic Practice Rules (``Eyeglass Rule'' or ``Rule''). The workshop may address the proposed confirmation of prescription release requirement for eyeglass prescriptions, consumers' and prescribers' experiences with the implementation of a similar requirement for contact lens prescriptions, other proposed changes to the Rule, and other issues raised in comments received in response to the NPRM.
