In accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. 552a), as amended by the Computer Matching and Privacy Protection Act of 1988 (Pub. L. 100-503), OMB Final Guidance Interpreting the Provisions of the Computer Matching and Privacy Protection Act of 1988 (54 FR 25818, June 19, 1989), and OMB Circular No. A-130, ``Management of Federal Information Resources,'' the Corporation for National and Community Service (``CNCS'') is issuing a public notice of the computer matching program with the Social Security Administration (``SSA'').
Proposed Information Collection; Comment Request
The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, conducts a pre-clearance consultation program to provide the general public and federal agencies with an opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing collections of information in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA95) (44 U.S.C. 3506(c)(2)(A)). This program helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirement on respondents can be properly assessed. Currently, CNCS is soliciting comments concerning its proposed renewal of the President's Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA), parts A, B, C, D, E and F. This information will be provided by certifying organizations which will include non-profits, schools, universities, businesses and faith based organizations. This is a voluntary submission in order to place an order for an award. Copies of the information collection request can be obtained by contacting the office listed in the ADDRESSES section of this Notice.
