ACTION:
The Department of Labor
(DOL) is submitting this Bureau of Labor
Statistics (BLS)-sponsored information
collection request (ICR) to the Office of
Management and Budget (OMB) for
review and approval in accordance with
the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995
(PRA). Public comments on the ICR are
invited.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) is the
timeliest instrument compiled by the
U.S. Government that is designed to
measure changes in the purchasing
power of the urban consumer’s dollar.
This ICR contains the collection of price
data from rental units, which is
essential for the timely and accurate
calculation of the shelter component of
the CPI. For additional substantive
