SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: In
accordance with 5 U.S.C. 8131, a
Federal employee who sustains a workrelated injury is entitled to receive
compensation under the Federal
Employees’ Compensation Act (FECA).
If that injury is caused under
circumstances that create a legal
liability in a third party to pay damages,
FECA authorizes the Secretary of Labor
to require the employee to assign his or
her right of action to the United States
or to prosecute the action in his or her
own name. For additional substantive

Register on September 9, 2021 (86 FR
50559).
This information collection is subject
to the PRA. A Federal agency generally
cannot conduct or sponsor a collection
of information, and the public is
generally not required to respond to an
information collection, unless the OMB

valid OMB Control Number. In addition,
notwithstanding any other provisions of
law, no person shall generally be subject
to penalty for failing to comply with a
collection of information that does not
display a valid OMB Control Number.
