Pharmacia LLC, et al., Civil Action No. 21–1681. The United States filed a Complaint in this lawsuit under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA). The United States’ complaint names Pharmacia LLC and Solutia Inc. as defendants. The complaint requests recovery of oversight and other response costs that the United States incurred in connection with remedial efforts taken in Sauget Area 2 and an order requiring completion of remedial work selected in a Record of Decision for Sauget Area 2 located in Sauget, St. Clair County, Illinois. The defendants signed the proposed Consent Decree, agreeing to pay a total of $700,000 in response costs and complete the work, estimated to cost $17.9 million.
