SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The
purpose of the cotton dust standard and
its information collection requirements
is to provide protection for employees
from the adverse health effects
associated with occupational exposure
to cotton dust. Employers must monitor
employee exposure, reduce employee
exposure to within permissible
exposure limits, provide employees
with medical examinations and training,
and establish and maintain employee
exposure monitoring and medical
records. For additional substantive
information about this ICR, see the
related notice published in the Federal
Register on April 27, 2021 (86 FR
22277).
This information collection is subject
to the PRA. A Federal agency generally
cannot conduct or sponsor a collection
of information, and the public is
generally not required to respond to an
information collection, unless the OMB
approves it and displays a currently
valid OMB Control Number. In addition,
notwithstanding any other provisions of
law, no person shall generally be subject

to penalty for failing to comply with a
collection of information that does not
display a valid OMB Control Number.

DOL seeks PRA authorization for this
