SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (‘‘VEVRAA’’), 38 U.S.C. 4212(d), requires Federal contractors and subcontractors subject to the Act’s affirmative action provisions in 38 U.S.C. 4212(a) to track and report annually to the Secretary of Labor the number of employees in their workforces, by job category and hiring location, who belong to the specified categories of protected veterans. VETS maintains regulations to implement the reporting requirements under VEVRAA, and uses the VETS–4212 form for providing the required information on the employment of covered veterans. The regulations in 41 CFR part 61– 300 require contractors and subcontractors with a covered Federal contract entered into or modified in the amount of $150,000 or more to use the Federal Contractor Veterans’ Employment Report VETS–4212 form for reporting information on their employment of covered veterans under VEVRAA. Accordingly, the Secretary seeks six committed members to serve a two-year term. If a vacancy occurs before a term expires, the Secretary may appoint a new member who represents the same interest as the predecessor to serve the remainder of the unexpired term. The U.S. Department of Labor (Department) is committed to equal opportunity in the workplace and seeks a broad-based and diverse NACOSH membership. The Department will conduct a public records check of nominees before their appointment using publicly available sources. Nominations of new members, or resubmissions of current or former members, will be accepted in all categories of membership. A statement that the nominee is aware of the nomination, is willing to regularly attend and participate in NACOSH meetings, and has no conflicts of interest that would preclude membership on NACOSH. OSHA will conduct a basic background check of candidates before their appointment to NACOSH. The background check will involve accessing publicly available, internetbased sources. IV. Member Selection The Secretary of Labor will select six NACOSH members based on their experience, knowledge, and competence in the field of occupational safety and health (29 CFR 1912a.2). Nominees will also be evaluated in accordance with Secretary’s Order 10–2020 (85 FR 71104) to ensure they are sufficiently financially independent from the Department programs and activities for which they may be called upon to provide advice.
