Benefits are paid by a coal mine operator who employed the miner (or its insurance carrier) or the Black Lung Disability Trust Fund if no responsible coal mine operator can be identified. OWCP is seeking comments on the extension of information collections titled Coal Mine Operator Response to Schedule for Submission of Additional Evidence (Form CM–2970) and Operator Response to Notice of Claim (Form CM– 2970a).
