information collection.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The
Department of Education (ED), in
accordance with the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA) (44 U.S.C.
3506(c)(2)(A)), provides the general
public and Federal agencies with an
opportunity to comment on proposed,
revised, and continuing collections of
information. This helps the Department
assess the impact of its information
collection requirements and minimize
the public’s reporting burden. It also
helps the public understand the
Department’s information collection
requirements and provide the requested
data in the desired format. ED is
soliciting comments on the proposed
information collection request (ICR) that
is described below. The Department of
Education is especially interested in

Abstract: Institutions participating in
the Federal Perkins Loan program use
the assignment form to assign loans to
the Department for collection without
recompense, transferring the authority
to collect on the loan. This request is for
continued approval off the paper based
assignment form and the electronic
process. The electronic process will
allow for batch processing as well as
individual processing. The same
information is being requested in both
processing methods.

Purpose of the Council: The National
Coal Council provides advice and
recommendations to the Secretary of
Energy on general policy matters
relating to coal and the coal industry.
Purpose of Meeting: The National
Coal Council (the Council) will hold a
virtual meeting via webcast at 11:30
a.m.–1:00 p.m. (EST) on October 1,
2018, for the sole purpose of reviewing
and voting on the following two reports:
‘‘Advancing U.S. Coal Exports: An
Assessment of Opportunities to Enhance
Exports of U.S. Coal’’ and ‘‘Power Reset:
Optimizing the Existing Coal Fleet to
Ensure a Reliable and Resilient Grid.’’
The Council membership will be asked
to accept these reports and forward
them to the U.S. Secretary of Energy.
