The purpose of the Standard and its information collection requirements is to document that employers are providing their workers with protection from hazardous ionizing radiation exposure. Occupational Safety and Health Act sections 6 and 8 authorize this information collection. See 29 U.S.C. 655, 657. This information collection is subject to the PRA. Additionally, the Standard requires an employer to create and maintain records to certify that employees have been made aware of the details of the fire safety plan and that employees have been trained as required by the Standard.
