Abstract: The collection of this
information is needed in order for the
Payment Analysts in Federal Student
Aid, an office of the U.S. Department of
Education, to review and process the
institutional payment request for Title
IV funds. The Higher Education Act of
1965, as amended (HEA) requires that
the Secretary prescribe regulations to
ensure that any funds eligible
postsecondary institutions receive
under the HEA are used solely for the
purposes specified in and in accordance
with the provision of the applicable
program. 34 CFR 668.161 and 668.162
establish the rules and procedures for a
participating institution to request,
maintain, disburse, and manage Title IV
program funds.

soliciting comments on the proposed
information collection request (ICR) that
is described below. The Department of
Education is especially interested in

Abstract: The regulations in 34 CFR
682.302(f) assure the Secretary that the
integrity of the program is protected
from fraud and misuse of funds. These
regulations require a State, not-profit
entity, or eligible lender trustee to
provide to the Secretary a certification
on the State or non-profit entity’s
letterhead, signed by the State or nonprofit’s Chief Executive Officer, which
states the basis upon which the entity
meets the regulations. The submission
must include the name and lender
identification number(s) for which the
eligible designation is being certified.
Once an entity is approved it must
provide an annual recertification notice
identifying the name and lender
identification number(s) for which
designation is being requested.
