ACTION: Notice of public virtual meeting.
AGENCY:
The Bureau of the Census
(Census Bureau) is giving notice of a
virtual meeting of the National Advisory
Committee on Racial, Ethnic and Other
Populations (NAC). The Committee will
address the U.S. Census Bureau’s
release of the 2015 National Content
Test Race and Ethnicity Analysis
Report, which presents findings to the
Census Bureau Director and executive
staff on the optimal design elements of
the race/ethnicity question(s) as
preparations continue for the 2020
Census. The 2015 National Content Test
is part of the research and development
cycle leading up to a re-engineered 2020
Census. The test was designed to
compare different questionnaire design
strategies for race and ethnicity.

SUMMARY:
The NAC will meet virtually on
Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Last minute
changes to the schedule are possible,
which could prevent giving advance
public notice of schedule adjustments.

The NAC
was established in March 2012 and
operates in accordance with the Federal
Advisory Committee Act (Title 5,
United States Code, Appendix 2,
Section 10). NAC members are
appointed by the Director, U.S. Census
Bureau, and consider topics such as
hard to reach populations, race and
ethnicity, language, aging populations,
American Indian and Alaska Native
tribal considerations, new immigrant
populations, populations affected by
natural disasters, highly mobile and
migrant populations, complex
households, rural populations, and
population segments with limited
access to technology. The Committee
also advises on data privacy and
confidentiality, among other issues.
All meetings are open to the public.
A brief period will be set aside at the
meeting for public comment on April 5.

issued a Final Panel Decision affirming
the U.S. International Trade
Commission’s Determination on
Remand in the matter of Steel Concrete
Reinforcing Bar from Mexico. As a
result, the NAFTA Secretariat was
instructed to issue a Notice of
Completion of Panel Review on the 31st
day following the issuance of the Notice
of Final Panel Action, if no request for
an Extraordinary Challenge Committee
was filed. No such request was filed.
Therefore, on the basis of the Final
Panel Decision and Rule 80 of the
NAFTA Rules of Procedure for Article
1904 Binational Panel Reviews, the
Panel Review was completed and the
panelists were discharged from their
duties effective March 16, 2017.
