Purpose On August 21, 2013, the Exchange filed to change the expiration date for most option contracts to the third Friday of the expiration month instead of the Saturday following the third Friday.3 This proposed rule change is intended to clarify certain rule changes that were made in the Expiration Date Filing and to amend additional procedural and other rules intended to implement the change in expiration date for most option contracts to the third Friday of the expiration month instead of the Saturday following the third Friday.
