Abstract: This package requests
clearance to recruit and collect data
from districts, schools, and teachers for
a study of math professional
development (PD). The study will
provide important information about the
implementation and impact of
intensive, content-focused professional
development on fourth grade teachers’
content knowledge, classroom practice,
and their students’ achievement. The
evaluation has an experimental design
with teacher-level random assignment
of a volunteer sample of approximately
200 fourth grade teachers in six districts
to receive either the study’s PD or the
district’s ‘‘business-as-usual’’ PD.
Findings will be presented in a final
report scheduled for release in February
2016.

Abstract: The Office of Indian
Education (OIE) of the Department of
Education (ED) requests clearance for
the Indian Education Formula Grant
Application authorized under Title VII,
Part A, Subpart 1 of the Elementary and
Secondary Education Act, as amended
(ESEA). The Indian Education Formula
Grant (CFDA 84.060A), is not
competitive or discretionary and
requires the annual submission of the
application from the Local Education
Agency and or Tribe. The funds under
this program assist applicants to provide
Indian students with the opportunity to
meet the same challenging state
standards as all other students and meet
the unique educational and culturally
related academic needs of American
Indian and Alaska Native students. The
amount of the award for each applicant
is determined by a formula based on the
reported number of American Indian/
Alaska Native students identified in the
application, the state per pupil
expenditure, and the total appropriation
available. The information collection is
also necessary to meet the Government
Performance and Results Act (GPRA)
requirements. The collection is
authorized by section 7114(a) of the
ESEA, 20 U.S.C. 7424(a), and by section
