The evaluation has an experimental design with teacher-level random assignment of a volunteer sample of approximately 200 fourth grade teachers in six districts to receive either the study’s PD or the district’s ‘‘business-as-usual’’ PD. The funds under this program assist applicants to provide Indian students with the opportunity to meet the same challenging state standards as all other students and meet the unique educational and culturally related academic needs of American Indian and Alaska Native students.
