The Assistant Deputy Secretary for Innovation and Improvement announces preapplication meetings for the fiscal year (FY) 2011 Investing in Innovation Fund (i3) competition. The Department of Education (Department) published three notices inviting applications for the i3 program in the Federal Register on June 3, 2011 (76 FR 32148–32182). These notices include the priorities and selection criteria that the Department will use for the FY 2011 i3 competition. The Department published a separate notice inviting applications for each grant type—Scale-up, Validation, and Development—under the i3 program. In anticipation of additional alternative route information being provided by Northern Pass, DOE is reopening the scoping period. DOE will determine the close of the scoping period once the additional routing information is received from Northern Pass, and DOE will provide at least 45 days for public review and scoping comments on any such routing information.
