Department reviewed the certification
for workers of the subject firm. The
workers are engaged in employment
related to the production of
semiconductors.
The company reports that workers
leased from TAC Worldwide, GDA
Technologies, Inc., Manpower, Ion
Design, Design Solutions, Inc., Veriseo,
SilconElite and MicroLogic, Inc. were
employed on-site at the Austin, Texas,

SUMMARY: Keystone Steel and Wire
Company (KSW) is applying for a
permanent variance from the provisions
of the OSHA standards that regulate
occupational exposure to lead and
arsenic, specifically paragraph (h)(2)(i)
of 29 CFR 1910.1025 and paragraph
(k)(2) of 29 CFR 1910.1018. These
provisions prohibit the use of

compressed air to clean floors and other
surfaces where lead and arsenic
particulates accumulate. This notice
seeks public comment on the alternative
conditions proposed by KSW to protect
its workers when they use compressed
air to remove lead and arsenic
particulates from inside the housings of
crane motors.
