National Association of Realtors, No. 05–C–5140. On September 8, 2005, the United States filed a Complaint alleging that the National Association of Realtors (‘‘NAR’’) violated Section 1 of the Sherman Act, 15 U.S.C. 1, by adopting policies that suppress competition from real estate brokers who use password-protected ‘‘virtual office websites’’ or ‘‘VOWs’’ to deliver PO 00000 Frm 00035 Fmt 4703 Sfmt 4703 47613 high-quality brokerage services to their customers. The proposed Final Judgment, filed on May 27, 2008, requires NAR to repeal the challenged policies arid to adopt new rules that do not discriminate against brokers who use VOWs.
