established the Task Force on March 31,
2008.
This meeting will be the first meeting
of the Task Force and will include
introductions of the Task Force
Members and Federal representatives,
an overview of research on violence
against American and Alaska Native
women and of evaluations concerning
efforts to respond to such crimes, and a
Task Force Member discussion on the
research and evaluation goals of the
Task Force. The Task Force is also
expected to hear from additional invited
speakers who will provide information
on research on violence against
American Indian and Alaska Native
women. In addition, the Task Force is
also welcoming public oral comment at
this meeting and has reserved an
estimated 90 minutes for this purpose.

working lunches. Time will be reserved
for public comment on August 21, 2008
from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. See the section
below for information on reserving time
for public comment.
Access: This meeting will be open to
the public but registration on a space
available basis is required. Persons who
wish to attend must register at least six
(6) days in advance of the meeting by
