AGENCY: SUMMARY: The Defense Policy Board Advisory Committee will meet in closed session on March 6, 2008 from 0800 hrs until 2030 and March 7, 2008 from 0900 hrs until 1330 at the Pentagon. The purpose of the meeting is to provide the Secretary of Defense, Deputy Secretary of Defense and Under Secretary of Defense for Policy with independent, informed advice on major matters of defense policy. The Council submits to the Congress, not later than June 30 of each year, a report on the activities of the Council that includes recommendations the Council considers appropriate for the improvement of Federal education programs that include Indian children or adults as participants or that may benefit Indian children or adults, and recommendations concerning the funding of any such program. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act; the President’s fiscal year 2008 budget and the 2009 budget request; Executive Order 13336 activities; program updates; the Council’s charter; and development of the Council’s Annual Report to Congress.
