AGENCY:
SUMMARY: NARA is giving public notice
that the agency proposes to request
extension of a currently approved
information collection used to advise
requesters of (1) the correct procedures
to follow when requesting certified
copies of records for use in civil
litigation or criminal actions in courts of
law, and (2) the information to be
provided so that records may be
identified. The public is invited to
comment on the proposed information
collection pursuant to the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1995.
DATES: Written comments must be
received on or before March 17, 2008 to
be assured of consideration.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Pursuant
to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995
(Pub. L. 104–13), NARA invites the
general public and other Federal
agencies to comment on proposed
information collections. The comments
and suggestions should address one or
more of the following points: (a)
Whether the proposed information
collection is necessary for the proper
performance of the functions of NARA;
(b) the accuracy of NARA’s estimate of
the burden of the proposed information
collection; (c) ways to enhance the
quality, utility, and clarity of the
information to be collected; and (d)
ways to minimize the burden of the
collection of information on
respondents, including the use of
information technology; and (e) whether
small businesses are affected by this
collection. The comments that are
submitted will be summarized and
included in the NARA request for Office
of Management and Budget (OMB)

NARA is soliciting comments
concerning the following information
collection:
1. Title: Court Order Requirements.
OMB number: 3095–0038.
Agency form number: NA Form
13027.
Type of review: Regular.
Affected public: Veterans and Former
Federal civilian employees, their
authorized representatives, state and
local governments, and businesses.
Estimated number of respondents:
5,000.
Estimated time per response: 15
minutes.
Frequency of response: On occasion.
Estimated total annual burden hours:
1,250 hours.
Abstract: The information collection
is prescribed by 36 CFR 1228.164. In
accordance with rules issued by the
Office of Personnel Management, the
National Personnel Records Center
(NPRC) of the National Archives and
Records Administration (NARA)
administers Official Personnel Folders
(OPF) and Employee Medical Folders
(EMF) of former Federal civilian
employees. In accordance with rules
issued by the Department of Defense
(DOD) and the Department of
Transportation (DOT), the NPRC also
administers military service records of
veterans after discharge, retirement, and
death, and the medical records of these
veterans, current members of the Armed
Forces, and dependents of Armed
Forces personnel. The NA Form 13027,
Court Order Requirements, is used to
advise requesters of (1) the correct
procedures to follow when requesting
certified copies of records for use in
civil litigation or criminal actions in
courts of law and (2) the information to
be provided so that records may be
identified.
