The Committee will assess: • Trends and developments in the science and engineering of earthquake hazards reduction; • the effectiveness of NEHRP in performing its statutory activities (improved design and construction methods and practices; land use controls and redevelopment; prediction techniques and early-warning systems; coordinated emergency preparedness plans; and public education and involvement programs); • any need to revise NEHRP; and • the management, coordination, implementation, and activities of NEHRP. Secs. 5621–5625). The Committee is composed of leaders in the commercial space-based remote sensing industry, space-based remote sensing data users, government (Federal, state, local), and academia. The Department of Commerce is seeking up to six highly qualified individuals knowledgeable about the commercial space-based remote sensing industry and uses of space-based remote sensing data to serve on the Committee. DATES: Nominations must be postmarked on or before November 8, 2007.
