Senior Executive Service performance
appraisals and makes recommendations
regarding performance ratings and
performance scores to the Director,
MDA.

waive the requirement for public
consultation to the extent that public
participation in the approval process
would defeat the purpose of the

Abstract: Title I, Part A of the
Elementary and Secondary Education
Act, as amended by the No Child Left
Behind Act, requires State educational
agencies (SEAs), local educational
agencies (LEAs), and schools to collect
and disseminate information to
document progress, inform parents and
the public about school, district, and
State educational performance, and
provide services to students and
teachers to help at-risk students meet
challenging State achievement
standards. The change in burden hours
is primarily due to updated estimates of
the time needed for SEA, LEA, and
school implementation of statutory
district and school improvement
planning requirements and the statutory
requirement that local educational
agencies notify parents of eligible
students in schools in improvement of
their public school choice and
supplemental educational services
option. The estimate also reflects hours
for new final regulations 200.6(b)(4)(i)(c)
and hours for the preparation of SEA
and LEA report cards.
