Introduction On September 30, 2005, the American Stock Exchange LLC (‘‘Amex’’ or ‘‘Exchange’’) filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (‘‘Commission’’), pursuant to section 19(b)(1) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (‘‘Act’’) 1 and Rule 19b–4 thereunder,2 a proposed rule change to establish a new class of Registered Options Trader called a Remote Registered Options Trader (‘‘RROT’’). On January 13, 2006, the Amex filed Amendment No. 1 to the proposed rule change.3 On January 26, 2006, the Amex filed Amendment No. 2 to the proposed rule change.4 The proposed rule change, as amended, was published for comment in the Federal Register on February 10, 2006.5 The Commission received no comments in response to the proposed rule change. The Amex filed Amendment No. 3 to the proposed rule change on March 29, 2006, but the amendment was subsequently 1 15 U.S.C. 78s(b)(1).
