Abstract: The evaluation responds to

(GEAR UP) program. Using a quasiexperimental design, high school
graduation and postsecondary
enrollment as well as students’ and
parents’ expectations for postsecondary
education, their knowledge of the
academic preparation needed and
availability of financial resources and
students’ academic performance will be
compared over time for students who
participated in GEAR UP with students
who did not participate in GEAR UP
projects. Descriptive information about
projects will also be collected.
