By letter dated December 1, 2004, a
petitioner requested administrative
reconsideration regarding Alternative
Trade Adjustment Assistance (ATAA).
The certification for Trade Adjustment
Assistance was signed on November 5,
2004. The notice of determination was
published in the Federal Register on
December 9, 2004 (69 FR 71429).
The initial investigation determined
that subject worker group possess skills
that are easily transferable.
The Department has received new
information that indicates that the
workers possess skills that are not easily
transferable.
At least five percent of the workforce
at the subject firm is at least fifty years
of age. Competitive conditions within
the industry are adverse.
By application of December 10, 2004,
a petitioner requested administrative
reconsideration of the Department of
Labor’s Notice of Negative
Determination Regarding Eligibility to
Apply for Worker Adjustment
Assistance, applicable to workers of the
subject firm. The denial was signed on
November 17, 2004, and the notice of
determination was published in the
Federal Register on December 9, 2004
(69 FR 71428).
The Department carefully reviewed
the petitioner’s request for
reconsideration and has determined that
the Department will conduct further
investigation based on new information
provided.
By letter dated November 19, 2004, a
representative of the International
Union of Electronic/Communication
Workers of America, Local 201,
requested administrative
reconsideration regarding Alternative
Trade Adjustment Assistance (ATAA).
The certification for Trade Adjustment
Assistance was signed on October 22,
2004. The notice of determination was
published in the Federal Register on
November 12, 2004 (69 FR 65463).
The initial investigation determined
that subject worker group possess skills
