NRS 10.010Definitions. As used in this title, unless the context otherwiserequires, the words and terms defined in NRS10.015 to 10.125, inclusive, havethe meanings ascribed to them in those sections.
NRS 10.015Affinitydefined.Affinity when applied to themarriage relation signifies the connection existing in consequence of marriagebetween each of the married persons and the blood relatives of the other.
NRS 10.135Interpretation. As used in this title, every mode of oral statement, underoath or affirmation, is embraced by the term testify, and every written onein the term depose.
NRS 10.145Signatureby mark.As used in this title, signature orsubscription includes mark when the person cannot write, his name being writtennear it by a person who writes his own name as a witness; but when a signatureis by mark it must, in order that it may be acknowledged or may serve as thesignature to any sworn statement, be witnessed by two persons who mustsubscribe their own names as witnesses thereto.
NRS 10.155Legalresidence.Unless otherwise provided byspecific statute, the legal residence of a person with reference to his rightof naturalization, right to maintain or defend any suit at law or in equity, orany other right dependent on residence, is that place where he has beenphysically present within the State or county, as the case may be, during allof the period for which residence is claimed by him. Should any person absenthimself from the jurisdiction of his residence with the intention in good faithto return without delay and continue his residence, the time of such absence isnot considered in determining the fact of residence.

NRS 10.165Performanceof secular acts.Whenever any act of a secularnature, other than a work of necessity or mercy, is appointed by law orcontract to be performed upon a particular day, which day falls upon a holidayor a nonjudicial day, it may be performed upon the next business day with thesame effect as if it had been performed upon the day appointed; and if such actis to be performed at a particular hour it may be performed at the same hour ofthe next business day.

A seal of a court or public office, when required to anywrit or process or proceeding, or to authenticate a copy of any record ordocument, may be impressed with wax, wafer, or any other substance, and thenattached to the writ, process or proceeding, or to the copy of the record ordocument, or it may be impressed on the paper alone.
