Chapter 10 - TELEHEALTH
Section 10-3 - Requirements for Use of Telehealth

(a) The delivery of telehealth services occurs where a patient is located at the time telehealth services are provided.

(b) An individual must be licensed by the Board to provide telehealth services to a patient physically located in Wyoming at the time the services are provided.

(c) Initial assessment of a patient may be conducted via telehealth and does not have to be in person.

(d) An individual who provides telehealth services to a patient in Wyoming shall:

(i) Adhere to the same standard of care as if the services were performed in person;

(ii) Identify the patient with, at a minimum, the patient's name, date of birth, phone number, and address. A licensed athletic trainer may also use a patient's assigned identification number, Social Security number, photo, health insurance policy number, or other identifier associated directly with the patient;

(iii) Disclose and validating the licensed athletic trainer's identity, license, title, and, if applicable, specialty and board certifications;

(iv) Provide the patient, or the patient's legal guardian, the opportunity to either sign or provide verbal consent to telehealth services;

(v) Have the appropriate knowledge and skills to competently deliver services via telehealth;

(vi) Assess the patient's candidacy for delivery of services via telehealth and determine it is appropriate given the type of service and the needs of the patient before providing services via telehealth; and

(vii) Use a Facilitator when necessary to appropriately provide services via telehealth.
