Chapter 9 - FRACTURING AND TEST TANKS
Section 9-1 - Specific Requirements

In addition to the requirements in Chapter 8, Section 2. of these rules and regulations, the following apply to fracturing and test tanks.

(a) Any fracturing or test tank shall have a permanently mounted ladder.

(b) Tanks Intended to contain ignitible fluids shall not be sent to a work location with defective valves. If leaks develop while on location, valves may be plugged but must not be used until the tank is empty and the defective valve repaired or replaced.

(c) All tanks being used for swab tanks shall be equipped with a pipe riser line which enters the tank within one (1) foot of the top of the tank.

(d) Fracturing and test tanks which contain ignitible fluids shall be placed at least 75 feet from the well bore. Deviation from this distance shall be only for good cause and with the issuance of an interim order by the Administrator or his designate.

(e) A means shall be provided on fracturing and test tanks to allow venting to the atmosphere.
