Section 11-2 - Use of Hydrogen

(a) Hydrogen cylinders in use or in storage shall be secured to a fixed or stable object.

(b) A regulator shall be attached to the hydrogen cylinder before the cylinder valve is opened.

(c) Flow of hydrogen from the cylinder shall be in either permanently plumbed metal tubing or in single wire braid flexible tubing.

(d) Pressure from a hydrogen cylinder shall be controlled to a maximum of 40 pounds per square inch.

(e) An excess flow valve shall be attached to the low pressure outlet of the regulator which is attached to the hydrogen cylinder.

(f) Hydrogen cylinder valves and lines shall be tested under pressure before each initial use on site to detect any leaks. Any leaks detected shall be repaired prior to actual use of the hydrogen.
