Section 7-1 - Significant Exposure to Blood or Body Fluids

Following a documented exposure of a health care worker to blood or bodily fluids of a patient that could lead to infection of a communicable disease which is capable of transmission by blood or other body fluids, a health care provider, worker or professional, acting within his scope of practice, may order an appropriate test to be performed on a specimen from the patient by a duly licensed and accredited laboratory.
