Section 2-24 - Audits

(a) Field audits and desk reviews. WDH may perform a field audit or a desk review of a provider at any time to determine the accuracy and reasonableness of claims submitted by the provider.

(b) Excess payments. If an audit discloses that a provider has received excess payments, WDH shall recover the excess payments pursuant to Section 26.

(c) Financial or medical records which are not made available at the time of an audit shall not be admissible at an administrative hearing held pursuant to Section 27 unless the provider shows good cause for not making the records available at the time of the audit.
